Carli Calitz
Swim School Coordinator
For Carli, swimming has never been just about what happens in the pool. It is about confidence, resilience, connection and giving young people the opportunity to discover what they are capable of.
With more than a decade of experience across swimming, sport science, education, athlete development and aquatic management, Carli has built her career around helping people grow — from children taking their first steps in the water, to competitive athletes and young coaches beginning their own careers in sport.
Originally from South Africa, Carli’s journey began through swimming and led her to study Human Movement Science and Sport Science before completing a Master of Sport Science at the University of Pretoria. Her career has taken her across learn-to-swim, school sport, competitive swimming, athlete development and sports science, as well as aquatic management in Hong Kong.
Today, Carli leads the Swim School at PhysiPro Seaford, combining her experience in aquatics, education and sport science to create an environment where swimmers and coaches can thrive. She particularly loves the small moments that show real progress — a nervous child finding confidence in the water, a swimmer achieving a goal they have worked towards, or a young coach discovering what they are capable of.
Carli is passionate about developing the next generation through sport and creating opportunities for young people who want to build a career in swimming. She believes the lessons learned through sport — overcoming challenges, working towards goals, handling setbacks and celebrating progress — can shape confidence far beyond the pool.
Her approach combines the science behind performance with the human side of sport. She believes the best sporting environments challenge people to improve while making them feel supported, valued and excited to be there.
Outside of PhysiPro, Carli enjoys staying active, exploring the outdoors, travelling and embracing new challenges and adventures.
